Considering changing up my character a bit before my 3rd game and curious about Leadership. Please respond to my assumptions below:
"Minions" - I assume these are npcs that I meet in game or seek out during between-game actions, and who I somehow persuade to work for me, such as through loyalty to a purpose, or to a religion, or favors owed, or because of my presence/charisma/leadership skills, etc.
If I have level 3 in Leadership, I understand I can have 3 minions. It also says "may build Minions with Level 3 skills". Does that mean I can effectively control the productivity of
three minions who have level 3 in some productive skill? For example: three minions - one level 3 Resource Gatherer, one level 3 Crafter, and one level 3 Mercantile minion? Or do I only gain part of their productivity?
Thanks!

I don't have this skill; however, the way it has been explained to me in the past is as follows:
You gain a number of minions with skill level equal to the level of Leadership when you first purchase it. In your example, then, you would be correct - You could have any combination of 3 minions with any skill listed in the rule book. If you choose to invest further points in the skill at a later date, your third level minions would not automatically "level up" with you - they would remain third level, though I believe there is an in-game method of improving their skills. I think that is currently FOIG territory. Subsequent minions built at this new Leadership level would begin as level four.
There are two points of errata that on which I think we still need clarification from the rules committee:
1. The Skill doesn't grant a minion, but grants the ability to build one. If that's an important distinction, and I'm not aware of any detailed process within the rule book that covers how a minion is built.
2. The Infinite Minion Problem. If I purchase level 5 Leadership, and have all of my 5 minions themselves train in Leadership, the further 25 minions train in leadership, and so on and so forth until I have 520 minions who train in level 5 Melee Weapon (Universal) and then proceed to conquer the known world with my 95.4 trillion soldiers.

Tim, once again, is correct. The Leadership gives you the ABILITY to recruit a minion. If you take it, you will get a list of recruits who want to work for you each logistics and you will be able to choose from them. It does not automatically have a mindless, nameless drone given to you. 2. We look forward to the time when a PC attempts this particular avenue as it is NOT prohibited by the rules, spirit or letter.

Very interesting and cool! So in addition to the list of recruits to choose from, can I attempt to find a recruit not on the list, as a between-game action or in-game action? for example, if no-one on the list has Survival, could I hunt for someone who does and attempt to persuade him to join my cause? Do these minions require payment?
Once a minion is chosen, do they stay a player's minion, or does the player have the choice of keeping a minion or trading them out with a new minion?
Does taking a resource gathering or craft skill at level 3 gain me more resources or crafted goods than having one minion with that gather skill or crafting skill at rank 3?

Thank you! That would have to be a FOIG. If you have a leadership, you will get a new sheet each month according to your level. But if your search would be successful if you went to find a certain one would have to be a FOIG answer. That is up to your discretion. That would also be a FOIG answer as there is no way for us to determine if that minion would be comfortable under that other person's banner. But if you have three slots and you find another minion you want, you can relieve one of your minions on their service and get another. The only difference is with you having a Level 3 of Gathering yourself you can do whatever you wish with the resources, the other is you requesting what your minion does with the resources. They are the same skill whether a minion or a player.
